When you join the Company

When you join IBM or an affiliate, you will automatically become an insured person under the IBM Japan Health Insurance Association.
If you have dependent family members, they can become insured as dependents as long as they meet certain conditions. Note that you must apply to the IBM Japan Health Insurance Association to have dependents authorized.

Once you join the Company

You will automatically become an insured person under the health insurance program.
*Your employer will undertake the procedures needed to initiate insurance coverage. You do not need to submit application forms or take any other action. When the Association receives the application documents from your employer, it will issue a health insurance card and send it to your employer.

You will receive a health insurance card.
*Your employer will issue one health insurance card for each insured person.

Pay health insurance premiums.
  • *Your health insurance premiums will be deducted from your salary for the subsequent month. Health insurance premiums also will be deducted from any bonuses.
  • *Health insurance premiums are determined by the insured person’s income.
