If you take time off from work due to sickness

If an insured person is unable to work to undergo treatment for a nonoccupational illness or injury and is unable to earn salary or other income during this time, he or she will be paid Injury and Illness Allowance.

If you take time off from work due to sickness

Required documents
The following two items must be filled out on the application form:
  • Doctor's opinion that you are unable to work
  • Certification from your employer that you are on leave and whether or not you are receiving pay
Deadline At the earliest possible date
Applies to Insured persons taking time off from work due to illness (those satisfying all four conditions below)

Notes

You must satisfy all four of the following conditions to receive this allowance:

  1. You must be undergoing treatment for illness or injury.
  2. You must be unable to work due to the treatment.
  3. You must have missed work for at least three consecutive days.
  4. You must be unable to earn your salary or other income.
