What about the costs of childbirth overseas?
As in Japan, a uniform Childbirth and Childcare Lump-Sum Grant of 404,000 yen (statutory benefit: 404,000 yen) will be paid.
Notes: (1) In the case of abnormal birth, such as a Caesarian section, in addition to the Childbirth and Childcare Lump-Sum Grant of 404,000 yen the required costs of medical care are eligible for insurance benefits.
(2) Since the costs of examination before and after childbirth are included in the Childbirth and Childcare Lump-Sum Grant, no additional benefits are paid for those costs.
