I will soon be eligible for the longevity medical care system although currently insured under the Special-Case Retired Persons Medical Care System. What are the steps I should take?

The IBM Japan Health Insurance Association will send a letter on the required procedures to persons who will shift to the Medical Care System for the Advanced Elderly (longevity medical care system) on their 75th birthdays, about two to three weeks prior to the 75th birthday. You probably will receive information from the regional alliance for the medical care of the advanced elderly in the area where you live as well.

If you are an insured person or dependent age 65 or older who has become eligible for the longevity medical care system as a result of being certified by your municipal government as having a disability, please notify the IBM Japan Health Insurance Association.
