Tip (2): The Mother's Body Protection Law and health insurance

The Mother's Body Protection Law is intended to protect the life and health of mothers by establishing provisions related to sterilization and abortion.
While health insurance does not provide medical care benefits for childbirth, you can receive medical care benefits under health insurance for an abortion procedure.

However, abortions performed simply for economic reasons are not eligible for medical care benefits from health insurance. When undergoing an abortion in accordance with the provisions of the Mother's Body Protection Law, the Childbirth and Childcare Lump-sum Grant provided under health insurance will be paid if the pregnancy has lasted at least four months (85 days).
