I have itchiness and red swelling of about 5cm in diameter around the site where the injection was. Should I just leave it as is?

If it is only around 5cm where you received the injection, it is nothing to be worried about. However, please keep an eye on it.
If the rash or itchiness becomes worse, and you are concerned, please visit your local clinic (dermatologist).
In around 10-20% of people who receive a flu vaccine, red swelling, itchiness, and a localized feeling of heat around the injection site may be experienced.

However, these side effects usually disappear within two to three days. In addition, 5-10% of vaccine recipients may also experience side effects such as fever, chills, headache, and a general feeling of lethargy. These symptoms will also generally subside after two or three days. (In rare cases, vaccine recipients may experience nervous disorders, such a rash all over the body and dizziness. If you encounter these side effects, you should consult a physician immediately.)
